Nirmal Baba: Failed businessman to wealthy spiritual Guru

The controversial self-proclaimed Godman Nirmal Baba who has come under scanner following exposed by media has accumulated huge assets by resorting to deluding people to resolve their problems and woes. Any individual wishing to take part in his so-called “Nirmal Darbar” has to shell out a minimum amount of s Rs 2,000.

The amount is transferred directly into the three bank accounts of Nirmal Baba operated by him. His three back accounts are currently operative in Punjab National Bank, ICICI Bank and Yes Bank respectively. According to estimates Nirmal Darbar has an annual turnover of around 90 crore rupees.

A Hindi daily, Prabhat Khabar, in its report claims to have details of two of these bank accounts. As per the report of the newspaper, Rs 109 crore had been deposited in these two accounts this year till the first week of April 2012.

Though most of the money deposited comes from states like Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand, but transactions take place from all over the country. Besides this, the report also claimed that Rs 16 crore were deposited into Nirmal Baba's account on April 12, 2012.

The newspaper also claims that a fixed deposit of Rs 25 crores is held by Nirmal Baba in a leading bank. Nirmal Baba holds two accounts, one in his name — Nirmaljeet Singh Narula (real name o Nirmal Babae) and the other in the name of 'Nirmal Darbar'.

Reports also said that h has also bought a hotel in Greater Kailash area of Delhi for which he has paid whopping amount of 30 crores.

The controversial Nirmal Baba has come under sharp criticism from spiritual gurus and personalities across the country. The popular spiritual gurus including Baba Ramdev have censured Nirmal Baba for his allegedly deceiving and misguiding to people.

Swami Satyamitranand commenting on Nirmal Baba demanded thorough investigations into alleged frauds committed by Baba. He said appropriate legal action should be taken against Nirmal Baba as nobody is above law.

He said that due to misconduct of controversial gurus like Nirmal Baba, other genuine spiritual gurus in the country feel defamed. He said that police should investigate the cases registered against Nirmal Baba and if allegations are found true, he should be put behind the bars.

As far as life details of Nirmal Baba are concerned, he was born around 1950 in a Sikh family. He (Nirmal Baba) got married to the daughter of Dilip Singh Bagga in Jharkhand and has two children (son & daughter). Nirmal Baba is the brother-in-law of former speaker of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Inder Singh Namdharee.

Namdhari married Baba’s sister in 1964 when Nirmal was only 14-15 years old. The father of Nirmal Baba was murdered during his childhood. During the seventies, Nirmal Baba ran a cloth shop but after few years he had to close down this business as he could not prosper. After this, he got into business of bricks but he failed in this venture also.

It is said that in early 1980’s he suddenly disappeared and went to Delhi. In Jharkhand, some people who know him said that he acquired divine powers during this period and gradually got spiritualism.

He now owns a huge home in New Delhi. Interestingly, it is said that he has special healing powers and can analyse the individual sitting hundreds of kilometers away .Even his family of Nirmal Baba is surprised that how he transformed from a failed business man into affluent big spiritual guru.
